Hello, my name is Werner De Bleser (b. 1959) and I am a Belgian composer of music for orchestra, symphonic band, chamberorchestra, ensembles and soloworks.
I played in various ensembles for which I wrote a lot of music: Terzetto (a clarinet trio), Mansa Musica (a woodwind quintet), The Real Music Band (a jazz big band), Reichen Ensemble (woodwind quartet) and numerous smaller ensembles and symphonic bands.
The music I write, can be devided in two separate blocs: classical, contemporary music and more popular music (most of if for big band and symphonic band).
In my classical music I often use a computer to determine the musical components of a work: I wrote a computerprogram myself which chose (on a random base) several musical elements (pitch, duration, tempo, dynamics, marks, ). I wrote several pieces with the help of computerprograms which uses fractals, mathematics,
I also often make use of other compositions to create my own music. For my inspiration I use chords, titles, melodies, moods, of those compositions. I dont see this as plagiarism, but as a comment on those pieces. Just like a modern author or director who recreates classical plays.
