The music of Colour Dot is ambient and dubby,it's a mixture of oriental, and psycedelic soundscapes, backed by tribal percussion and trancy beats.

Main influences are early seventiesvibes (Schulze, Tangerine Dream,...), and bands like the Orb, Ozric Tentacles, Dub Syndicate,...

COLOUR DOT performances were visually supported by projections and special light effects.

COLOUR DOT was started after Kris, the guitarplayer from Funkey's other band OORTCLOUD, left for Ireland.
In a first attempt to launch the project, Dirk (percussion), Jeroen (didgeridoo), Mickey (flutes and temple bells) and Mustafa (percussion) were involved.
This did work out very well during rehearsals, but not on stage.
That's why Funkey decided to play some solo gigs, backed with sequenced stuff...
The experience of playing together with a sequencer on stage was not really the same as playing with a band, so the COLOUR DOT project was stopped after a while...
